ECONOMICS 1204-002 - SYLLABUS |
Spring, 2010, 8-9:15am, Tuesday/Thursday
OFFICE HOURS: I am an adjunct
(part-time) faculty member of the Economics & Finance faculty, I do
not have an office on campus; on the home page of this website is a list of courses that I teach
if you need to see me on campus. The
best way to reach me is by email: mark@markrosa.com.
TEXT: Macro Econ,
by William A McEachern.
COURSE OBJECTIVE: To learn
basic macroeconomic concepts emphasizing both theoretical and
practical applications of the subject.
Each semester's classes
vary and we tend to move through information slightly
differently than a previous semester, it is for that reason that
I do not assign specific dates to the subjects. The
"weeks" are approximations. When exams approach, we will
discuss an exam date in class that serves the majority at the
time. Exam dates will allow plenty of time between
completing the material that will be tested and the exam itself.
There are NO makeup exams.
- Week 1 - Chapters 1 and 2.
- Week 2 - Chapter 3.
- Week 3 - Chapter 4 and 5.
- Week 4 - Exam 1 on Chapters
1-5, and Chapter 6.
- Week 5 - Chapter 7.
- Week 6 - Chapters 8 and 9.
- Week 7 - Chapter 10.
Test 2 on Chapters 6-10.
- Week 8 - Chapters 11 and 12.
- Week 9 - Chapters 13 and 14.
- Week 10 - Chapters 15 and
Test 3 on Chapters 11-15.
- Week 11 - Chapter 16.
- Week 12 - Chapters 17 and 18.
- Week 13 - Chapters 19 and 20
- Week 14 - Test 4
on Chapters 16-20
- FINAL EXAM:
was changed to April 27 and 29 by email to the class and by post on this
site.
- MISSED CLASS: Make
arrangements with a classmate to get the notes on the class that you
missed. You dont have to notify me
if you are unable to attend class.
- EXAMS: Exams are listed on
this syllabus and will cover chapters indicated. Exams contain multiple
choice questions. The final exam is comprehensive.
- I post the grades for each of
the exams on this site the day after that the exam is given.
- You are required
to bring a BLUE or GREEN UNO SCANTRON form (available at the bookstore) to
record your answers on each exam.
On the SCANTRON form:
1. Print your name in the spaces provided and "bubble-in" the
corresponding letters on the form.
2. Print and Bubble-in a number in the "Special Code" area of the form. It is illegal to post
grades by social security number or by name, your grade will be posted
by special code so that you and only you know your score. Your special
code is what ever you want it to be. Make one up. You will lose 5 points
on the exam if your special code is NOT properly filled out!
- The final is
comprehensive, you may "drop" your lowest exam grade. You may not drop
the final. You may not be exempt from the final. You may not "make-up" a
missed exam, use the missed exam as the "drop."
